Pacquiao destroys the Golden Boy
Wednesday, April 8, 2009Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao shock the world of boxing as he destroyed the legacy that Oscar “The Golden Boy” Dela Hoya has created for himself. Pacquiao was the underdog before the fight with the analysts asking “why did Pacquiao ever took the fight”.
Dela Hoya has been fighting in the 160 lbs division in his latest fights, he is practically taller than Pacquiao and he is even more decorated compare to anybody that Pacquiao has fought in his career. Pacquiao, the smaller and faster fighter was terribly in trouble as the fight was put on paper.
Pacquiao proved every doubter wrong as he made Dela Hoya to surrender way before the fight was over. Pacquiao has then cemented his status as the boxing’s best pound-for-pound fighter. Dela Hoya was virtually hit by almost every shot Pacquiao has to give; right hooks, straight lefts, uppercuts and bodyshots. Dela Hoya looked very old and slow against the Pacman that night, a very painful view for the Golden Boy’s followers.
Now, Pacquiao looks forward to meeting the English Hitman on May 2nd and again promises another exciting fight.
